World Meeting of Families in Dublin

It takes a Family to make a Woman of Vision - was the theme of the striking banner at the exhibition stall of the Pastoral Congress of the World Meeting of Families (WMOF) that took place in Dublin from 22-25 August . It provided a good talk for many of the visitors and also a meeting point for many Presentation Sisters and friends of Nano from around the world.

Congratulations to the Irish Provinces for their creativity. Well done to the many Sisters and Friends of Nano who volunteered their time and presence at the stall, sharing the story of Nano and of the Presentation Family across the world.

The World Meeting of Families (WMOF 2018) - was a joy filled celebration of families. There were many inspiring and challenging Talks and Workshops exploring the theme - the Gospel of the Family - Joy for the World.

The WMOF 2018 culminated in the Festival of Families in Croke Park on Saturday night (25 August). More than 2000 singers, dancers, performers, musicians came together from across Ireland and around the world to create a beautiful  and moving theatrical experience.  The excitement mounted as we waited for Pope Francis to join the celebration. His presence and address to the Gathering made it all the more memorable.

On Sunday Pope Francis celebrated Mass in the Phoenix Park. Not even the rain and wind could dampen the enthusiasm and excitement of the thousands of pilgrims who travelled from across Ireland and indeed from around the world.
