Leave No One Behind: End Violence Against Women and Girls, Part II

Back

28/11/2017

“Unless the international community tackles violence against women, the world will not eradicate poverty or reach any of the other Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”, Secretary General Antonio Guterres said in his message on 25 November for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Mr Guterres also called for “united action from all of us, so that woman and girls around the world can live free from harassment, harmful practices and all other forms of violence”.

The next five leaflets prepared by “Future We Need” (FWN), a faith based group with members from Presentation Sisters, Mercy Sisters, Columbans, Franciscans and Salesians, are now available to read and download below. The last set of leaflets will be available on 6 December.

We, Presentation Sisters, continue to support this Campaign. Presentation Schools and those involved in the ministry of education, formal and informal, will be particularly interested in Day 8. Presentation Sisters in collaboration with their co-workers seek to work to ensure the dignity of persons is respected and their rights upheld by engaging in compassionate service, especially through various forms of education.
