Debaters Deliberate Important Social Issues

Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School, Jammu, organised the annual Nano Nagle Memorial Inter School Debate on 27 April 2016 in the school auditorium.
Veteran educationists, Ms. Gitanjali Andotra Rana, Associate Professor, Department of English, Govt. College for Women Parade, Ms. Nirlape Kour, HOD, Department of Political Science, MAM College and Ms. Anshuja Tak were the adjudicators of the event.
The house debated on the hotly contested topic ‘Caste-based Reservations are a sure step to India’s socio-economic progress’.
In all, twelve schools participated from across Jammu. All participants put forth their opinions convincingly and vehemently. In this battle of wits, the ardent participants not only presented their steadfast opinions on the topic but also displayed their oratorical skills making the venue abuzz with palpable excitement.

Inter School Debate in Jammu
Ananya Sharma of Jodhamal Public School bagged the first position, while Khushboo Turki of Presentation Convent, Jammu was judged second. The third position was a tie between Mehula Khajuria of Presentation Convent, Jammu and Mahavir Singh of DPS, Jammu. Manasvini Oswal of Jodhamal Public School received the Consolation Prize. The coveted Rolling Trophy was lifted by Presentation Convent School, Jammu.
